Troubles have arisen! D:

Wed Aug 26, 2009, 8:48 PM
This entry is a bit impulsive...normally I'd think before posting something like this. But...I feel like I need to say it (I'll have time to regret it later).

This is the second time this has happened...I've come up with a better, more solid idea of what I want LunarEclipse to be. Oh, God, why now?
Some of you may not know this but the version of Lunar Eclipse you read now is actually the second (heavily revised) version of the original.

The very first version (posted only on fictionpress.com) was written when I was in tenth grade. And to be perfectly honest the only reason why I wrote it in the first place was because I was in a writing class (not at all school related).

The workshop consisted of three people: me, another student, and the teacher (the author of a pretty good book series [link] ). The assignment for the class was simple: write up a 5-7 page start of a fantasy novel. I ended up going with my long time project LunarEclipse (omitting any bl for obvious reasons). The class ended and I had one and a half chapters done and absolutely no idea where the story was going...I posted it on the internet anyway (with much persuasion from ~dead--poets--society/*phantom4muah :XD:). It was the worst thing I ever wrote, seriously. After each chapter I felt so drained and it all seemed so forced, I didn't like it at all. So after three or four chapters I scrapped it in favor of a newer, better (plot wise) version--the one you are reading now.

...

WOAH! Talk about a tangent! Sorry about that guys! Haha!

Where was I? Oh, yes...I'm suddenly developing a better version in my head. It's all thanks to a song, reading internet fiction (even fanfiction) that is significantly better, constantly picturing my characters in scenarios that are impossible in the current story line, and the fact some of my character's background stories and motives are rather superficial and Mary Sue-ish (it hurts a little to admit that haha ^^;).

I have good feelings about this new version. I really feel that I can develop the characters as well as move the plot along a lot better...

But fear not! I will not scrap the current story in favor of chasing after this new idea, for all I know it could be a fleeting whim of mine that will disappear when I wake up tomorrow (a lot of my old, undeveloped stories are like that). I'll keep updating this (a lot slower now that I'm starting college...sorry everyone!).

And as for the new idea, I will continue to toy with it, flesh it out, maybe write it, and see where it heads...If I like it better I might even post it. Who knows?

Hoo...this was so long. Haha! I never intended to tell the tale of that kick ass writing workshop. My apologies :XD:
But I thank you all for indulging me and my insecurities for the time being.

Ok, I've been meaning to do this for a while...Since my updates are horribly infrequent I thought I'd feature some people with really great stories that I enjoy reading (hopefully you'll like them too^^). In no particular order...

Antithesis by :iconmaiko-raivaru: (summary from fictionpress.com) Isra, a 16 year old girl in mourning for her twin brother, is offered a chance to free him from a fate worse than death and takes it. Swept up in the complications of love and war she discovers that there is nothing simple in separating life from death.

Basmachi by :iconcharcoalfeather: (again, summary taken from fictionpress) The Basmachi, Turkic rebels, are sick of the Soviet oppression, and abduct Mitya, the son of a prominent Red General and hold him for ransom. However, the consequences are not what anyone expects them to be.

A Love Story by :iconsami-san: (crappy, probably inaccurate, summary by me >.< ) Caleb struggles to make his subordinate understand that he loves him.

Tea is Pleasant by :iconsami-san: (crap-tastic summary by me again >.< ) Drug abuse and how it destroys a girl's mind and life.

121 by :iconphantom4muah: (summary by Phantom) A story of love, fear and obsession. A teen taking care of a vampire, a pastry chef taking care of a deaf teen, and a waiter taking care of a keeper. All of their stories tie together and intertwine to create enemies and friends.

I hope none of you minded me featuring you >w< (and if there are mistakes let me know so I can fix them)

I accidentally deleted that poll I put up. Um...sorry? (pressing random buttons is not a smart idea >_> I'm stupid sometimes)

Would you be so kind as to vote for it again if you did already?

Chapter 8 progress:
Now that I'm sort of letting you decide where it'll go I have 3 outlines for one chapter to write so now I don't know what'll happen...um

Thank you for being understanding. ^^;
